Lake Forest Ice Palace
SW, D4C
The event took place on Saturday, December 17th from 3:30-6:00 PM. Clubs in attendance included members of D04C and D04S. Main activity was an ice skating bonding event between members of D04 Central and D04 South. Alongside that, there was an additional volunteering service project opportunity/activity of card making for veterans for those that didn't want to skate or wanted to take a break during the middle of it. The event was a great way to bring together different divisions. Usually we don't meet D04S members unless its at an event where all divisions meet up, but the Lake Forest Ice Palace was easy to access for members in both D04S and D04C so there was a really high attendance.
Jolly Mug Grams
EG, SCSCPA, D11
Before winter break, Key Club was inspired to spread joy throughout the campus! With enough brainstorming and teamwork, Key Club cabinet was able to come up with "Jolly Mug" grams. During the week of selling, cabinet members were able to have fun and get to know students from grades 6-12. While assembling the actual packages, members assisted in creating cards that followed a winter theme and they came out super cute! Along with that, the grams consisted of chocolates, a mug of course, a bunch of other candies, and a handmade crocheted goodie! It was so fun passing them out and getting to see everyone get so excited to receive a gram! We look forward to holding another fundraiser like this one.
San Diego Santa Run
MD, SDSCPA, D11
The Santa Run was really fun! Me, Jhaena, and Alexa helped out with setting up the snack bar for the runners by unloading all of the snacks and water out of the truck. Also, I got to hold the banner for the first woman who finished the race! There were A LOT of Santas and they Santa slayed!! I loved encouraging them and hyping them up when they were first starting the race and when they finished! Overall, the event was really successful and I’d like to go again next year!
Christmas Tree Recycling
HA, Cooley, D23
KTMB Christmas tree project was a service event around the community where Key Club helped carry and recycle the trees that were once used for Christmas decorations. It was a meaningful experience to be a part of this event, especially because the intentions were wonderful with how the trees will be reused effectively which is good for the environment. My favorite part of the event was running up the shadow mountain after volunteering, the weather was cold but I was able to make lots of good memories with my friends throughout the event!
Chili Bowl
HP, Cooley, D03N
The chili bowl festival at Mcgraorty Arts Center was an amazing event that everyone was excited to help volunteer at. We helped them wrap student-made ceramics, serve homemade chili, and sell baked goods. All the profits were used to help support and sustain the arts center. We are so grateful to be able to help out our community.
