Aktion Club Fundraiser
SR, Clovis North, D05N
Two DLT members (Surphancy and DJ) and I attended the 21st Annual Aktion Club Fundraiser! We participated in a triathlon which included basketball, bocce ball, and a bean bag toss. Our team placed 3rd overall while I got first in the bean bag toss and Surphancy won the watermelon eating contest! We had a really great time with other members of the Kiwanis Family, and we were very grateful for the opportunity to attend.

Classroom Cleanup
CT, Kearny, D21E
On August 8, Kearny key club members had the opportunity to go onto campus to help with classroom organizing/cleanup. The event let us help teachers prepare their classroom for the upcoming school year. Members helped wipe down desks, scrape old tape marks, and unbox materials for the classroom. The event lasted for three hours with the President, 5 board members, and 5 members present. Some members worked in the storage room stacking papers, putting art supplies in one area, and wiping off the storage racks. A lot of the members switched roles midway to continue helping the harder tasks in the class after they were finished. By the end of the event the class was ready for the upcoming art students with everything neat and organized. This event allowed us to do service for our school while also helping a teacher have an early start to the school year with a clean room and set up class.
Freshman Orientation
SQ, AACT, D23
On August 7th, Isabella Ramirez and I ran a key club table at the freshmen orientation for the opeing of Debbie Smith CTE Academy. It was loads of fun, a few other members of key club were also there to help advertise the club, and just in general help out the table. Many freshmen came up to the booth we were able to talk about what key club was, and really open their eyes to all the opportunities awaiting when you join key club!
Burbank High School Registration
AA, Burbank, D16S
During July 30 to August 6th, Key Clubbers helped Burbank High School with registration for all grades. The White Tigers first helped set up and organized all textbooks into neat piles with the correct label. This system allowed for the textbooks to be found more easily. When registration started, students would enter the library and receive the help of a Key Club member to find the correct books to go with their schedule. Using an organized system, Key Clubbers reduced the long lines that previous registrations have held. With hundreds of students registering every day, the help of these Key Club members contributed greatly, allowing for registration to move at a smooth pace.
